His Eminence Lamchok Rinpoche

Kyabje Jamme Lhamchok Rinpoche from Nangchen, Kham, is one of the revered yogis of the Drukpa Lineage.

Despite the difficult circumstance, after receiving the necessary instructions from the late Trulshik Adeu Rinpoche, he entered into 7 long years of solitary retreat, putting the instructions into practice. In his own informal manner, Lhamchok Rinpoche often exemplifies the way of simple living through non-fabricated sincerity and genuine concern for others.

With limited resources, Lhamchok Rinpoche decided to undertake the initiative to launch the first Drukpa Monlam in Kham in the summer of 2006, with the motivation to revive and support the 800 over years’ legacy of the Drukpa Lineage. In this respect, fulfilling the wishes of all the forefathers of the Dragon Order, Lhamchok Rinpoche genuinely becomes one of the important pillars of the Drukpa Lineage, sustaining the spiritual legacy and realizing the spiritual motivation to help others through aspiration prayers and activities.

His Eminence Kunga Rinpoche

His Eminence Kunga Rinpoche is the reincarnation of a great yogi from Lahaul (Garsha) in the Himalayan India, who was a direct disciple of Drubwang Shakya Shri, one of the most renowned yogis of the Drukpa Lineage in the last century.

He spent the whole of his later life in a retreat at the holy Drilbu Mountain revered as the abode of Chakrasamvara, where Gyalwa Gotsangpa, one of the greatest yogis of the Drukpa Lineage in 13th century, meditated and practiced. At this holy site, he constructed an assembly hall, a house for yogic practices and a monks’ residence.

Among all of these disciples, many arose as accomplished masters with perfected experience and realization. The second Kunga Rinpoche took rebirth as the son of his predecessor’s chief attendant. He had received all the teachings, trainings, vows and empowerments of the Drukpa Lineage from His Holiness Je Khenpo Kuenlay in Bhutan, thereafter he completed the traditional three-year retreat.

His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa has also been personally training Kunga Rinpoche. He will soon be returning to Lahaul, to carry on the legacy left behind by his predecessor, continuing to lead others on the spiritual path to enlightenment.
